April Recipe
We thought it would be fun to share a family favorite recipe once a month. Hope the idea catches on with all of you so we can all share our favorite with each other. For April we chose 2 of our favorites - Chicken Rice Salad & Strawberry Pretzel Dessert. We love these especially during the spring and summer months. Hope you enjoy them as much as we do!!

You will have to pause the music player at the bottom of the blog to hear the clip. Hope you enjoy

Today we woke up to a beautiful spring day! Since we have been pretty much couped up for the last 4 months we decided to take advantage of the nice weather. So we packed up a lunch and headed to Spring Valley Park. We spent about three hours at the park and exploring through the forest. We saw falcons, woodpeckers, owl pellets, and tons of coyote tracks. We all love the outdoors and had a ton of fun today!

We had another OB appointment today to hear the babies heartbeat. Unfortunatley, he could not find a heart beat. So he sent us, yet again, for an ultrasound to be sure all was well. Due to all the previous complications (SCH and spotting), it was a big deal for us to be sure that everything was ok. We had the ultrasound today and everything looked great. The SCH had completely absorbed, the heart beat was strong and regular, and the baby is measuring 3 days older than expected. So we are all feeling very positive and relieved with this update. Now we can stop worrying so much and just enjoy and prepare for this little guy or GIRL!!! The ultrasound is posted to the right. It is amazing to see the difference in just a few short weeks.

What, a date? This is a picture of us on our first real date "without kids" in 8 years, yes I said 8 years. We finally found someone who we trust with our children, which is hard these days when you are so far away from family. So the date, we were so excited for this date that we felt like kids on christmas eve. We went to a movie, "Paul Blart - The Mall Cop". It was a very funny and sweet movie, perfect for a date. After that we enjoyed an amazing meal at Outback Steakhouse. We made sure that the kids got to see a new movie also, "didn't want them to feel completely left out", so we got them the movie Pinocchio that they have never seen and dinner from Subway, their favorite place to eat out. It was so much fun to get out alone and enjoy each other's company without chasing kids. We are already planning our next one!

We went to the OB Dr. yesterday, and things are looking much better with the SCH. No more spotting!!! So we have been able to relax a bit. Although it was a couple weeks early the Dr. decided to see if we could hear the heart beat. After about 10 minutes of trying, we heard 3 or 4 beats and that was it. So we will be going back in 2 weeks just to hear the heart beat. We can't wait!!!!

We went to the OB today. Bridget has been having alot of spotting that has us worried. The OB sent us directly to get an ultrasound. We found out that she has a Sub-corionic hemmorage. Simply put, a section where the placenta did not attach. They said that it was very small, the size of your finger tip, but big enough that she needed to take it extremely easy for the next few weeks. Bridget is really upset and worried (a mother). I myself am not as nervous just because of the way the Dr. explained it and didn't seem to alarmed. They told us it happens quite frequently and usually just dissapears after awhile. It has not affected the baby at all, and we got to see the baby and a very strong heartbeat, so that was a good sign. We have a follow up appointment on March 10th, we will keep you posted.

Here is a pic of Dylan and his Valentine box for school. It is THE LOVE BUS! Bridget painted it cammo, of course, in Valentine colors. I cut out and glued on the details. Dylan helped for about 20 min. and then pooped out on the couch. He had to wait for me to get home from work at 11:30pm to work on it. we think it turned out pretty cute!

Here is a picture of our cat, Tigg or if your Maddy it's Tiggy-Nuggins! He is a fat lazy cat. He is also a baby, he whines until you follow him to his food bowl, he doesn't like to eat alone. He also has to go to bed with us, so when it is bed time he paces up and down the hall whining and crying until we finally go to bed. What a BOOB! But we love him to death.

BIG NEWS!!!!!!!!!!
There is going to be an addition to the family. No, not another darn cat, A BABY!! Number 3 is expected to be here October 8, 2009, probably a week earlier since it will be C-section. We are all very excited! We are hoping for a girl so Maddy will have a playmate and a roommate. We will keep you posted throughout the next exciting 8 months.

I guess now that we have this thing set up we should probably use it! So, here is an update on our family. Maddy Turned 3 this month. She had a "princess" birthday party. She is a ball of fire, picky, independant, sassy, and she has her dad wrapped tightly around her little finger! Dylan is turning 8 in April. He is in 2nd grade now. He loves school (most days). He loves reading, but his favorite thing to do is to play Call of Duty on the XBOX 360. He loves everything army. His Grandpa Taylor sent him a real army jacket, and since the day he got it we have had to beg him to take it off!!! I can't believe how fast they grow, or better yet, how time seems to pass by so quickly the older you get. Bridget is enjoying staying at home with the kids. Let me tell you she has her hands full!! I enjoy having her home, she's an awesome cook, but mostly I like knowing she and the kids are home waiting for me to walk in the door. It is a good feeling to walk in the door after work to everyone excited to see me and fighting over who gets hugs and kisses first. I am turning 30 in February, but the age hasn't caught up to me quite yet. Bridget turned 30 in November, but she tells everyone she is 28!!! I am working at a new job (since September) and I love it. I don't necessarily love what I am doing (custodian), but I really like the company I work for and the people I work with. It is a family run business and the atmosphere there feels much like a large family. I am hoping to get back into school this spring and try to finish it up. We moved into a new apartment in November. It is only 10 minutes away from work rather than 30 or 40 depeding on traffic. I am even more happy about the distance now since this winter has been very snowy and the roads have been awful. It has been very cold here for months, single digits or below most days. We tried to get out to the tubing hill a few times, but it's not much fun when you tube for an hour, freeze, and spent the following several hours trying to warm up. So we have had to make ourselves busy inside. We are all ready for warm weather! Our apartment is right on lake Schmidt and we can't wait to get out there and catch some fish. Well that about sums it up for now......
